Major in Energy–Environment Chemical Convergence Technology
Founding Purpose
The program aims to establish a foundation for the emerging discipline of Chemical Convergence by developing new courses in energy- and environment-related chemical technologies and offering a high-quality, interdisciplinary curriculum. Through this, the program seeks to cultivate global leaders in energy and environmental application fields and to carry out world-class, cutting-edge research.
Educational Objectives
By recruiting world-class researchers in the field of chemistry from abroad, the program aims to establish foundational technologies for energy and environmental applications based on strong chemical principles. Through the development of core technologies, it seeks to lay the groundwork for next-generation growth engines in the energy and environmental sectors.
In addition, the program endeavors to position the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Seoul National University as a “world-class research-oriented institution” through high-level international collaborative research, serving as a hub for the globalization of university research.
This initiative will open new opportunities in the emerging and underdeveloped field of energy–environment convergence, contributing to industrial advancement, the creation of new industries, and enhancing technological competitiveness required for entering the ranks of the world’s top five advanced nations and fulfilling international commitments.
